Phase One
Phase one of the Moors for the Future Partnership’s Fire Aware project includes installation of new interactives at visitor centres within the Peak District National Park.
Phase two will see additional interactives being added as well as weather stations and videos.
Two new interactive games exploring the causes and prevention of moorland fire have been installed at the Edale and Upper Derwent visitor centres in the Peak District.
In the next phase of this EU LIFE funded project we will be taking research on moorland fire risk forecasting and combining this with data from weather stations at the visitor centres to provide real time fire risk information to visitors.
Also in production are video interviews with a broad range of people involved with the management of the landscape and the associated fire risks.
This development is part of the MoorLIFE project, details of which can be found at www.moorsforthefuture.org.uk/moorlife
